2023 Registration and Ballot Process

The Weddin Mountain Muster is now a very popular trail ride, with a large number of people wanting to ride every year. While we'd love to have everyone, we must limit the number of riders each day for safety and logistical reasons.

Unfortunately, this means that people often miss out when we reach our limit of riders per day.

In the past, registrations have been taken on a first-in-first-served basis. However, this year, we are doing things a little differently in the hope that everyone has an equal chance of getting in. In 2023, riders will be selected via a ballot system.

How do I register for the 2023 Muster?

Online registrations will open on 1 April 2023 and close at midnight on 7 April 2023. A link to the registration form will be available on the homepage. The form is quick and easy to complete; however, you will need to have worked out what days you are riding and camping beforehand as well as your group name if you are coming along as a group - make sure everyone puts the same group name!

As part of the registration process you will need to read, understand and agree to three documents. These are:

2023 Weddin Mountain Muster Rules (link removed)

2023 Weddin Muntain Muster Rider and Horse Competency Agreement (link removed)

2023 Weddin Mountain Muster Trail Information (link removed)

Once you have registered, you should receive a confirmation email within 10 minutes. If you don’t, please check your spam/junk mail before contacting us. Please ensure you check the details have been captured correctly and notify the Secretary if something requires amendment.

If you experience difficulties with the online registration form, please email grenfellmuster@gmail.com, allowing 1 business day for a response.

How will the ballot system work?

Once you register, your information is accessible to the committee. Riders will be randomly drawn until all positions are filled. Successful registrants will be notified on 14 April 2023.

Couples/families (for example parent/s and child/ren) will be grouped for the ballot process. If one adult is drawn, the partner or family is drawn and offered positions on the ride.

If you normally ride as part of a group of friends, ensure you include the name of your group on the registration form. Each person in the group will need to register but collectively, you will be considered as a group entry. Please note: group entries are capped at 5 people. (Non riding group members are not limited under the group cap, but please ensure you list them).

Single entries with no other group members are also encouraged to register and will be included as a single entry.

There will be a waiting list as there is every year. It is common for 10-15 people to drop out of the ride every year due to personal matters or injuries to horse or rider. Therefore, there is still a chance to be offered a position on the ride, after the initial intake and the ballot system will continue to be applied.

We acknowledge it can be disappointing if you miss out but please remember to be kind and courteous to our volunteer committee members, who try their best to bring you a fun-filled week of rides around Grenfell. People who are rude and disrespectful will not be offered a position on the ride.
