Ride Information

The Weddin Mountain Muster consists of five days of guided horse trail rides. Riders can nominate to ride for the week or selected days. The 2024 Muster will run from Sunday 29 September to Saturday 5 October. Registrations for the 2024 Muster will open on 1 May 2024.

All rides begin at the Grenfell showground. The rides traverse a variety of terrain including sealed and unsealed roads both in town and out of town, open grazing and cropping paddocks, travelling stock routes, heavily timbered areas, rocky outcrop hills and creek lines. Read the 2024 Weddin Mountain Muster Trail Information to learn more about what the track conditions to expect for the 2024 Weddin Mountain Muster.

The rides are conducted at walking pace as there can be over 100 horses and riders of varying experience. It is expected that riders are reasonably experienced and confident with their horse and that horses are healthy and conditioned to riding 20-30km per day. Riders must agree to the Horse and Rider Competency Agreement. Horse marshalls and the Weddin Shire Council support the ride to ensure horse and rider safety, particularly on public roads.

The rides are altered every year due to seasonal changes, changes in property ownership and to keep it interesting for return riders!

The Committee conducts pre-rides every year to check trail conditions. Detailed information on the 2023 Weddin Mountain Muster rides is below. This information will be updated and changed for the 2024 event once we have conducted pre-rides.

The Committee reserves the right to change the rides at any time, as deemed necessary, to ensure the safety of riders and their horses.
